A Journey

How many of us remember the first time we took the MRT? Operated in 1987, the North-South (NS) line was the first in operation, serving 5 stations between Toa Payoh and Yio Chu Kang. The MRT was such a new and fascinating novelty that I guess riding it to and fro was akin to a nation pastime!

With a comprehensive network of 142 stations today spanning across the island, the MRT today can be said as the easiest mean of transportation in Singapore, serving up to 2 million passengers a day!

For many of us, a journey of a daily routine ties in closely on board an MRT train. With Singapore's unique geographic (we are just a small red dot remember!) proved the importance of a convenient and affordable transport system which has been serving us diligently for the past 28 year.

Forget the occasion breakdowns and the overcrowding situations, I guess I am still thankful that I can travel from Raffles Place to City Hall with breeze in just a short span of 3 minutes:)
