Having been through a long-distance relationship for half the course of their courtship, Sarah and Davin dreamed of holding a spectacular wedding celebration in June this year, with friends and families flying in from all around the world to join in the celebration…until all plans were thrown off-guard…

After many months of stressful planning, the couple decided to proceed with…“Plan Z”.

“We got engaged in June 2019 and spent close to a year planning for our dream wedding. We were meant to have a 280-pax dinner banquet with friends and family flying in from all over the world. Wedding planning was going quite smoothly up until the global pandemic hit and things in Singapore took a turn for the worse. Government advisories and travel regulations were constantly being revised as the situation evolved, so together with our amazing wedding planner, Jessica from Everitt, we came up with a Plan A, Plan B, Plan C… and what we dubbed Plan Z (the ‘worst case scenario’) for our wedding. Guess which one we ended up going with? Yup, we ultimately proceeded with Plan Z and got married in our home.”

Though the couple had to make do with limitations, and complying to many restrictions and regulations, it did not deter them from tying the knot in the presence of their closest. With a custom-made gown in place, Sarah was determined to proceed and donned on this special gown that was designed for her, with the help of the Amanda Lee team.

“There were elements about different gowns that I liked, but they weren’t all present in a single outfit, which made me ultimately decide to go with a customised gown by Pearlyn, as she inspired confidence in me from our very first meeting. I always had certain ideas of the look I was going for but I did’t know I had a “dream dress” until I put on the gown that Pearlyn designed for me on my wedding day!… I trusted Pearlyn throughout the process and she certainly delivered – I have received so many compliments about my dress! On top of all that, during this uncertain period where weddings are being rescheduled and postponed, the Amanda Lee Weddings team were so supportive, flexible and understanding, which really means a lot.“

“We are so grateful that our key wedding vendors below were all very empathetic and helpful. While it wasn’t the big celebration we had envisioned, as I stood in front of my soon-to-be husband listening to him say with vows, I was filled with only gratitude, pride, love and joy. I knew that everything we had been through was worth it – because I was about to marry my best friend and that was the most important thing.”
