Following an intimate proposal before their family and friends at Gardens By The Bay, Amanda and Abel’s wedding journey has been sealed, made enjoyable truly with the love of their dearest. Even when faced with the circumstance of changing their wedding venue just weeks before the big day, this duo proved that nothing is impossible when you’re supported with the love of your tribe.

“There are many seasons that we’ve been through- the happy time, the growing years, the LDR, the difficult conversations. Through all that, there were countless moments where we’ve seen the alignment of what we believe in things that matter, which has kept us saying yes over and over…”

When faced with the options of so many bridal boutiques out there, Amanda shared with us what made her decide on Amanda Lee Weddings eventually. The bridal gown she picked is an A-line fluid organza gown inspired by spring blooms, selected from our off-the-rack range.

“The best, in all honesty. I'm sure you know that brides-to-be go to different boutiques but the experience at Amanda Lee Weddings topped it all - from the chill vibes of the place, to the personable team, and of course the design of the gowns. Pearlyn was very kind, patient and quick to understand my preferences but also bold to recommend me to step out of my comfort zone, and at the same time flexible to accommodate the details. We had many conversations about the gown, venue, families which i thoroughly enjoyed. The recommendations and skill set she has were spot on and all the intricate details made a huge difference to the look and feel. To me it was a place where I got to more than just a beautiful gown for my wedding, but an experience of what it's like pursuing something you love and how genuine connections go a long way :)”

When the initial wedding venue became one of the affected clusters of the COVID-19 pandemic just a month before the actual wedding, Amanda and Abel faced tremendous pressure to either postpone the wedding, or carry on with a plan B. After scrambling in search for an alternative venue, what was suppose to be done in a couple of months left them only a few weeks to get things in shape.

”But during this time, i saw how it was what we prioritised that mattered and prayers from family and friends saw us through. How many can say they actually planned a wedding in a month right? :) On a happier note, seeing the kindness and generosity of our friends and family in the whole wedding process was very memorable - the lengths they went for us was so undeserved and we couldn't have done it all without them.”

The couple made the quick decision to proceed with their wedding on 14th March 2020 at Four Seasons Singapore, just before the limitation of gatherings Singapore was reduced to 10 pax and below.

“…our journey isn't just something between the both of us but it was because of so many people that we're where we are at today.”

The thoughtful duo also ensured the safety and well-being of all their guests, making temperature taking mandatory before entering the ballroom.

“It's a once in a lifetime event so rather than trying to get the perfect wedding, enjoy the process, savour the moments that you get to have with your vendors, families and friends. Keep close what's important to you, have a vision of what your wedding would be like, and that will keep you on track in the seemingly many decisions you have to make for this event. People won't really remember all the details of the wedding but they'd remember what it felt like to be present.”
