The first time we met radio presenter Gerald Koh and (his radio listener-turned- sweetheart) Zhixin, we see before us two very unique individuals, that are yet seemingly very alike. The wacky groom and his endeared wife both loved Disney and travelling, and it's unlikely that the wedding will be completed without either of these!
Backed by their spontaneous and fun loving entourage, we cannot imagine a more perfect celebration for this duo.
What was the inspiration behind your wedding?
We travelled a lot. Hence the first thing that came to our minds was we needed to have a travel themed wedding! Tables were named after countries and cities, our angbao box was a suitcase with a 'Honeymoon Fund' bunting and we even had a metal detector. Our Save the dates invitations were designed as boarding pass and we gave out passport escort cards as well.- Gerald & Zhixin
Any memorable moments when planning for the wedding?
Most memorable moment would definitely be the fact that I got to wear a Cinderella inspired wedding gown! Getting the right gown and suit was probably one of the many stressful thoughts during the planning for the wedding. We’ve heard of many wedding gown horror stories and we were so afraid to be part of one. The whole experience at Amanda Lee Weddings was a wholesome one! We were very comfortable from start to end and got our dream wedding gown after sharing with the designers the theme of the wedding night! - Zhixin
How did you decide on your gown for the wedding?
Zhixin wanted something dreamy and romantic. Hence she chose a ball gown that has clusters of tulle sewn all over which resembles flowers. She also wore a cathedral veil as Westin has a long march in. For her 2nd gown, she wore a Cinderella-inspired dress as we are both huge Disney fans! - Gerald
Lastly, any advise for brides when doing their bridal gown shopping?
Try on different designs to see what looks best on you. You may fall in love with a design which you initially think you wouldn't like! Also, try not to bring too many people as there may be conflicting opinions. - Gerald & Zhixin
